The second scholarship will be awarded to students of natural and physical sciences, and is named after Draginja Draga Ljočić; (1855-1926), the first woman doctor in Serbia, and the first woman to become a full member of the Serbian Medical Society. Draga enhanced the work in the field of pediatrics in Serbia, but was also known for her social and feminist endeavors. Both Mijatović and Ljočić passionately and with conviction believed in their professions and advocated for the betterment of the society in which they lived. The Harvard Club of Serbia hopes that the biographies of these two extraordinary people will spark the interest of perspective applicants.
